My First Response-Poem

I read two poems which are very sad. I am thinking that I’ll write several lines to dispel the gloom.

The first sad poem is like this:

Looking up at the stars, I know quite well
That, for all they care, I can go to hell,
but on earth indifference is the least
We have to dread from man or beast.

And my response poem is:

The stars are burning intensely,
billions of light years away,
to send a little twinkle to men and beasts and me.
That's not indifference, not disregard,
but rather it's a passion to connect.

The second sad poem is like this:

To love and to remember; that is good;
To love and to forget; that is not well;
To lapse from love to hatred; that is hell…

And my response poem is:

When love has run its course, let it go;
When love is gone, give a good cry and leave;
When love turns to hatred
but no way out--
manage it.
If it is a hell, try to be the hell's best manager,
while searching for the exit.
