I have a pessimist and an optimist in my mind–they fight often, speak loud, and rarely stop. If the pessimists talks about wrinkles, the optimist will dwell on experiences. If the pessimist talks about friends scattered far and wide, the optimist will point out the absence of peer pressure and endless comparison. If the pessimist talks about not being able to find anything to eat from an entire refrigerator stuffed with healthy food, the optimist will consider the glowing cholesterol level and longevity.
Excellent article. I am experiencing many of these issues as well..

Yeah, it can get that way. I don’t consider myself either an optimist or pessimist. I’m a realist

Thanks. I do my best. It’s better than being one extreme or the other on optimism and pessimism

Yes, being extreme brings a lot of harm. Optimism can lead to recklessness; pessimism to cynicism. LOL.

We have to search hard for the optimist in our mind sometimes but you’re so right it’s always there if we take the time to look for it! Thank you for sharing

Love the concept of both pessimist and optimist in our own minds…forever wrestling and trying to get the upper hand! May optimism win more often than not😇

LOL. Yes, we all root for optimism no matter what. Yet pessimism persists.
