At Paris Baguette, the Edison bakery, three women meet for tea, cake, and story. "The weather is cold and dreary. Arjay will be gone for a while-- what am I going to do with my hair?" He just can't catch a break, can he? He's such a good hairdresser we all agree. I bring him a photo of a Korean actress, and he instantly styles my hair into the same tresses. But he has no business sense at all, and he can never gather enough money to open his own shop. He's had business partners one after another, all ending up in acrimony, breakup, or even lawsuit. It is said he can't live without poker, driving to casinos regularly. If not Atlantic City, it's Connecticut somewhere. It's also rumored that he has one sweetheart in NYC, and another overseas. However I am sure this is just a rumor. Just think about all these diversions-- how can he ever save enough to be independent? He lost money here and there; he had a quarrel with this and that. As if this is not enough of a mess, he contracted omicron, being forced to isolate these days. He just can't catch a break, can he?
But at least he is such a good hairdresser! That counts for something.

So true. He just can’t connect his skill with business.

Poor ladies. Arjay just can’t get his act together. Hope he recovers and gets back to his hairdressing profession. I like how you dumped Omicron on him at the end. Great work! 🙂

This is a true story. Poor Arjay. He is such a nice worker but he has no business sense at all. He needs good partners who can utilize his skills and the business can be run fairly and everybody is fairly treated, but it is hard to achieve that.

This is a very dramatic poem, I’d love to see maybe a sequel about the business?
