Poem Of The Day #40

"3G is no longer supported. What does it mean?"
"Don't you know? Where have you been?"
I sweat and I toil, with no time for technology,
which advances so fast--it's almost obscene.

The plan is out of date,
the phone needs an upgrade.
What to choose, how to deliberate?
Decisions have to be made. Can't wait.

This company is probably the best we can get;
reviewers clamor for another from the internet.
We'll opt for something we won't regret.
Differences don't matter--it's all in the mindset.

Here there's a 5G unlimited hotspot;
there there's a tethering plot.
Do I need a 5G devices or not?
My thought is muddled. It's all I've got.

Only 5PM, it's getting dark outside--
shadow and gloom like an unbroken tide.
I like technology, feeling so refreshed and satisfied;
I hate technology, feeling so outdated and petrified.

Oh, life--
give me all your ambivalence and strife.

    1. I feel outdated with this 4G and 5G thing since there are so many plans, phone types, bandwidth, speed, restrictions… It feels like an endless parade of information that I will never sort out– Haha, it feels like English words to a non-native speaker like me.

  1. It’s such a precarious balance. It seems like life depends on 4G and 5G now. There’s nothing more important than a device and one’s face in the screen. And then that endless search for the better and the best. Which company offers the most in less. If only we’d try so hard to better ourselves. A lovely and thought-provoking one, Haoyan. 🙂

    1. Thank you, Terveen. You are so right. We are at such a lost facing with all these changes. Yes, it’s either 4G or 5G and no other phones can be used right now. And which plan to choose? People like me are so clueless and there are numerous plans with numerous speed, bandwidth, restrictions, advantages, etc. It is a mess and it’s impossible to sort out…
